Dragrims Species in Gates of Eternity | World Anvil

Dragrims

Dragrims are one of three main races of Dwarves. As the rest of them they were created by Xylian Dominion first attempt of creating geneengineered species of slaves and servants. They were created to serve as strong workers and heavy infantry, but were ultimately flawed with some unforeseen genetic flaw that made them much too short for Xylian liking.   Despite this they were spared and allowed to settle in two areas of Karadia. Dragrims are descendants of dwarves settled by Xylians in the region of White Mountains. There they lived for thousands of years, undergoing a periods of outside tyranny (firstly Xylian, then elven and, finally, human, though it is the least painful one for them) which left them a pretty deep collective scar that makes them rather xenophobic (or at least distrustful to the foreigners).

Additional Information

Social Structure

Their prolonged periods of foreign occupations and tyranny made them be generally disgusted by an idea of strong, centralized state. They live in a sort of anarcho-syndycalist communes, ruled by a variety of guilds and with kings being merely first among equals and military commanders.

Facial characteristics

Expansive beards. Black hair. White skin, not going too far into either olive nor pale colours.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Especially in White Mountains and the neighbouring lands, both on and beneath the surface. There are some colonies formed by those less-isolationist ones, but they are rare and tend to quickly sever all ties with their ancestral homeland.
