Imperial Artifact Classification System
One thing Imperium loves above all is nice, and tidy tables when it can fit everything that exists around, limiting weird displays of ever shifting Dark/magic as a whole. If it is closed in a table, there can not exists things outside of it - that's how Dark works. And that's what Imperium loves.
Imperium quite soon managed to properly catalogue notable artifacts, creating the Imperial Artifact Classification System. That includes all types of magical artifacts - powerful and capable of being a most interesting and useful asset for the Imperium.
Besides obvious things, like Name and Type (for example Warhammer or Shield), there are also some more interesting tables. Mainly, Category and Subcategory, the first one describing what kinds of creature created this particular object, while the second one defines it further by claiming how exactly it happened.
Categories
Daemonic Artifacts are objects that were made by wild daemons or servile daemons that for some reason doesn't made them to be in any way connected to their patron's powers.
Divine Artifacts are objects that were made by various gods and deities (or their powerful servile daemons), excluding Enigmas, Dark Ones and Grand Gods, as they are considered a different category. They also tend to require being a part of religion of a respective deity.
Eldritch Artifacts are objects that were made by Enigmas and Dark Ones (with Imperium incapable of finding out that items made by Dark Ones are different, since it simply doesn't know such things exist) or their powerful servile daemons. They are easily recognized by negative effects on sanity of using them and lack of requirement to worship their creators... since spreading insanity is sort of their whole point.
Holy Artifacts are objects that were made by Grand Gods (or, rather, their enforcers and servile daemons), very rare, very powerful, and require user to be a part of their religion.
Mundane Artifacts are objects that were made by powerful civilizations of antiquity, or equally powerful mages and Ascendants of later ages. Tend to be of lower power than the categories above.
Subcategories
Possessed Objects are objects that are special, because some being is inhabiting them. In most cases daemons, rarer weak deities. Such 'possessed' objects aren't possessed in a real meaning of the world, the better word would be 'connected', with beings closely bound to object in question, capable of using them to transfer their power to the owner and strenghtening it.
Aetherforged are objects that were created by gods or powerful, servile daemons within Dark, from its own matter (aether, hence the name). Their materialization being perfect, they are resistant to antegnit and other antimagic materials.
Relic is an object that can be described as artifactic by association. Relics are created when, for example, a great an holy person (or a Chosen one of some god) dies. Items he used, for example non-artifact sword or his own bones can be imbued by his aura, thus becoming an artifacts (in most cases, lesser).
Blessed Objects are objects that rather than being forged by deity, were created otherwise and then imbued by his powers. Every consecrated item (for example holy water, silver inrithian cross blessed by a priest) is theoretically a para-artifact beneath Copper grade, some of them (if blessed by particularly exemplar priest) practically capable of being considered Copper grade.
Mundane Forged are objects that were assembled by mortal hand, one belonging to a person of sufficient skill (that also possessed some powerful ingredients) to make it reach artifact level in power. Although rarely of high grade.
