Session 2: The Isles of Fire

General Summary

Upon awaking the next day at the inn, Silas has transitioned into his winter form, mentally scarred from the ordeal the day before. Colter and Akira...emerge from the same room. After a short discussion over breakfast, the newly-formed party decides to head to the Isles of Fire immediately. Upon crossing through the Gateway to the new world, they find themselves a short walk away from the main city of Sundias. Silas approaches too close to the edge of the lava, burning himself, before the rest drag him off to go to the city.   They arrive in Sundias to hear the sound of what seems to be some sort of preacher or rally happening. A man is talking to a small crowd about the Assembly, to mixed reviews of the people. Some are enthusiastically supporting his words while others are hesitant, as nothing has been done about "the situation up north." The party questions these people and learn that there's two towns to the north, Lowcross and Brokenhill, that are potentially in trouble. What sort of trouble isn't clear, but they decide to investigate, as its a better start to their adventure then anything.   Akira begins to cause problems immediately, sneaking into the market and stealing a diamond while the rest haggle for heat potions that will help them survive in the overwhelmingly hot environment. Upon approaching the docks that bear boats that can sail safely over the magma, they meet a dwarf named Dhurrid who's looking for help at Lowcross. In his boat is a young kestrel aarakocra child named Ras who begs them to help, as something attacked his village and drove everyone out. They agree, exchanging the diamond for passage.   They sail to a smaller island near Lowcross where Ras has been staying with an osprey aarakocra named Sif. She thanks them for helping and gives them directions to the islands nearby, pointing at locations where there potentially may be refugees. She cannot help them herself, as she injured her leg badly and would be a burden in battle.   Ras comes with them as they explore the edge of the Blazing Woods. There they find a small group of aarakocra led by a spearwoman named Ur that at first threatens the group, thinking they're enemies, but then calms upon seeing Ras. However, upon mentioning Sif, she's confused, not knowing anyone by that name. They direct the group to the island Sif was waiting on and continue on.
