Kinhall
Kinhall is a large town situated on the delta of the River Cyster, bordering The Snakeghost desert.
Government
While nominally part of the Alerki Ascendency, and thus under the control of an Elder, Kinhall really belongs to the various street gangs that exercise authority over trading, resources, and cultural endeavors.
Governmental mandate is held by the strongest.
Defences
Surrounded on three sides by the nigh impenetrable Snakeghost, the town has little need for walls. Each rival gang maintains its own fleet of ships that can be deployed should a threat emerge to the town from the River Cyster.
Industry & Trade
Kinhall exports all manner of interesting goods, mostly mined or discovered from the Snakeghost. These goods are sold by two competing markets--the Ramshackle Market and the Habbub Market--each managed by a rival gang.
Infrastructure
The town, situated around a great natural oasis called The Well, features several docks designed to carry forth the desert's riches to ports unknown. There is also the Sandsmoke neighborhood, where the raw materials provided by The Snakeghost are refined into all matter of implements--some deadly and some ornamental.
The Kinhall Custodians manage the town's infrastructure.
Guilds and Factions
Kinhall is a town ruled by its gangs. The one currently holding the most power is The Returned.

History
Kinhall was founded on the destroyed remnants of an ancient city some call Axantoram. Some of that city's buildings can still be seen, the Tabernacle and the Hall chief among them. From the start, it was a town ruled by warlords and gangs.
Then, in 830 AC, the Ascendency came to town. Rather than fight an extended conflict with a vastly numerical superior force, the gangs decided to submit to Alerki rule. At least in theory. The gangs themselves still hold sway over the town, paying a tribute to the Ascendency and letting an Elder house themselves in the Tabernacle for appearance's sake.
Tourism
Most of the individuals that come to Kinhall are traders seeking the artifacts and resources of the Snakeghost.
Some, however, come for the brutal sport to be found in The Hall.
