Bahamut

Divine justice has always existed, but Bahamut, God of Justice, embodies it's very principle.   Fear and desolation ran rampant after the First Incursion, and many who sought to rule through unearned means followed after. For many people, this meant loosing their home and their freedom. They slaughtered r enslaved to feed these wicked men's ambitions, and soon many were without home and family. From their cries though, came a God to give them hope. Bahamut, only a Dragon at the time, heard their pleas and his heart ached. For many Dragons, the dealings of man were of no consequence, but for Bahamut, who had seen the compassion of mortals, saw it as his duty to intervene. Breaking his draconic oath of isolation, he descended from atop his mountain and took human form. This very act was in itself a form of sacrifice, as to do so meant that he would have to give up his ancient powers. Using what was left of those very powers, he built the Divine Order, a group of Paladins who would seek out tyrants and punish them.   For hundreds of years, he lead them, but with the absence of his ancient power, time soon caught up to Bahamut. Upon his death, mortals from all parts of the world came to mourn him. Hearing their cries and seeing Bahamut's deeds for herself, Moradin sought him out in the Plane of Justice. Upon meeting him, she offered him a place among the Gods. At first he declined, but Moradin brought forth a deal he could not refuse, he would become the God of Justice and would continue to lead the Divine Order as it's Holy Symbol and God.   Now Bahamut watches over the Mortal Plane, where he continues to give his powers to those who are worthy and punish those who would rule others through fear and oppression.
