Bane

Every act of aggression needs a champion and that falls to Bane, God of War. His unending blood lust and ruthlessness on the battlefield earned him his place as the Arbiter of War.   Born as a lowly Orc, war was all Bane knew. From the moment he could walk, he could fight. Day in and day out Bane would fight, be it beast or man, he would fight them all. It was clear to everyone among his tribe that Bane was different and that frightened them. His ruthlessness in battle and brutal tactics earned him the title "Blood King" and with a title brought warriors seeking a reputation. However, each person that he fought only made him stronger ans soon, he became an unstoppable force. All those that fell upon his path quickly found their end, and for this Bane earned his place as High Chieftain. With this power and authority, Bane was able to unify all orcs under one flag, and soon set out to plunder.   Their reign was terrible and his ambitions were large. One after another, towns fell to his army, slaughtered in their homes and in the streets. All who would not swear fealty to him were executed and those who did were forced to become slaves. This, however; would be his undoing, for this act alone attracted the attention of Palor, God of the Harvest and Agriculture.   Seeing the fields he helped his people cultivated trampled under the feet of Bane, he sent forth a Champion. With the backing of the Divine Order, The Champion crushed Bane and his forces, causing the once mighty Orc army to shatter. This infuriated Bane, and seeing no other path, challenged the Champion to One on One combat. For days they fought, sword clashing against brute ax, every swing intending to kill its opponent. The battle dragged on, but for Bane, who had no God to back him, his strength would fail him. The Champion saw his opportunity, and with a might swing, felled Bane. With his final breath, Bane cursed Palor and vowed to one day enact revenge against the one who felled him.   When Bane died, he did not go to his place in the Nine Hells, but instead found himself in front of a divine and evil throne. Upon it sat Abaddon, God of Destruction, who had watched Bane with interest. Seeing his power, he offered him a place among the Gods as his avatar of War. Bane accepted this offer, and soon earned two titles; The God of War, and to those who had served under him and all who came after The Blood God.   Now Bane sits upon his throne of skulls, endlessly watching over wars and offering his boon to those ruthless enough to carry its burden.
