Gê-Zemja
Gê-Zemja is a planet with living conditions like our planet Earth. The year is 1882, but Gazemia, as it is often called by its residents, has a history of its own that brought it to where it is today. It has multiple continents with unique civilizations, that have through time interacted and clashed during its own Age of Exploration. Technology has developed comparably to how it has on Earth, being ahead in some respects and behind in others.
What really distinguishes Gazemia from life and humanity on planet Earth though, are the Moogai. Moogai are beings (humans and animals at least) with exceptional abilities to harness concentration to do exceptional things. Things that your average human or animal would not be able to do or undergo. They are faster, more resilient, smarter, you name it. They are no demi-gods or super heroes by any means. They do however manage to 'give that little extra' to stand out from the crowd.
While the coming about of the Moogai is still a mystery, its first claimed recording dates approximately 2000 to 2400 years back. Ancient stone scriptures found in Sinisterra, combined with mythical tales told from generation to generation, tell the story of a tribal army of exceptional warriors that beat an enemy force against all odds and rationality. While their equipment was of common quality, they were claimed to call upon a power of concentration that made them fight exceptionally skilfully.
According to historians, the tribe was called the Moogai. How they gained this power is unknown. While some make it their life goal to find out, no single theory is supported by more evidence or credibility than another. With the power still around today and people claiming to have it and being able to perform acts to prove it, not many in the world dare to deny its existence now though.
