Gebra
The setting for a West Marches style game, focused on the continent of Tinnah'yue.
Tinnah'yue was once a thriving modernist seat of the Hathor Imperium, a matriarchal empire which controlled the continent through its extensive mastery of magical items. The Imperium, which drew from elements of the Greco-Roman empire and ancient Egypt, ruled for millenia, but eventually fell to infighting which splintered it.
The fall of the Imperium was hastened by a mysterious event known as the "Arcane Awakening," which occurred roughly 2,000 years ago. Over the course of a generation, magical cataclysms rocked the entire continent, radically altering the physical geography of Tennah'yue. At the same time, people across the continent began to exhibit magical powers and proficiencies en mass. After the Awakening, magical items began to fail beyond the borders of Tennah'yue, isolating the continent from the rest of Gebra.
As the Hathor Imperium collapsed and the cataclysms related to the Awakening destroyed former metropolises and redrew the map of the continent, the people of Tennah'yue reverted to a rural and agrarian life. Today, most of the citizens of Tennah'yue live in relatively isolated communities, and the legacy of the Hathor Imperium in most regions amounts to ruined cities or discarded relics.
