King Reginald Montgomery is the King of the Kingdom of Wesmore. His family has ruled over the land for nearly three hundred years. In the last sixty years or so the royal family has lost much of its power. Riddled with scandals, drunkenness and poor financial dealings, the people of Wesmore see the royal family as nothing more then figureheads and pay only respect out of tradition. King Reginald is a mirror image of his late father. He has a short temper and child like behavior when confronted with any problem. He demands the respect of others but does nothing to gain it. He appalls the Merchant Lords, blaming them for his families financial troubles, but dares not speak it to them. He tries to convince others that the Merchant Lords work for him and do nothing with out his consent. The Merchant Lords for their part play along in public of respect of the throne if not the man, but with a simple glance can but remind the King who really is in charge. At almost anytime of day you can find him with a wine glass in hand and courtesan on his lap. He has sired many bastards over the years, but claims none of them. The Merchant Lords do keep a close eye on these children to make sure they will not one day try to make trouble.
