Greil

Greil - The Dawnbringer   Known to the vulpin as Baelthor, the elves as Uan’tu, snowshorne as Grindle, and the humans as Greil, this deity is usually represented as a tall, muscular warrior clad in full beautiful platemail armor. He is the god most species pray to for valor and protection in battle. Stalwart in his ideals, Greil is a generally good and lawful deity. Greil is known as The Patron God of War, the Dawnbringer, the Father, and Greil The Unbloodied. It is said that long ago he led the forces of men against the orokorra that inhabited the planet. Many humans worship him as a farmer turned warrior.

Holidays

Titan’s End (26 Galyrra)

This holiday is in honor of Greil and his victory over the orokorra - the ancient titan-like creatures that once inhabited the planet, whose ribs are said to have become the Thaagos and Cragspire mountains, and whose fingers are said to the odd-shaped spires of Old Draconia. Greil sacrificed much of his power in the battle, leaving him wounded and weakened for centuries before his power returned. In this time, it is said that he taught the first peoples, the Adzja’tar, the secrets of farming and agriculture. While the people may have forgotten the true nature of the orokkora, they honor Greil’s sacrifice to this day. Offerings to Greil abound on Titan’s End, with all of his worshippers giving thanks.
