Tale of the Twin Moons

Maotelus and Shizel are the twin moons of Genessi, appearing large in the sky at night. Maotelus is the larger of the two, and has a golden hue while Shizel has a reddish hue. In Genessan mythology, most Celestials below god rank hail from Maotelus, while Shizel is the home of Devils. Long ago, it is said that the moons were radiant and filled with life and greenery. It was believed that the Queen of Maotelus and the King of Shizel fell in love and sought to rule their kingdoms together. Their union brought about an era of peace between their peoples, until the queen's sublords betrayed her and killed Shizel, framing her for his murder. According to legend, all-out war was fought between the two kingdoms, resulting in both sides being bathed in black and white fire. All that remains of their once-great kingdoms is ash and stone.
