Since before the start of the 21st century the population of much of the western world has been largely concerned with climate change and the resolution thereof. In 2018 storms several very large storms begin causing widespread damage to coastal regions world wide, and near the end of the hurricane season one final hurricane larger than any seen before - Hypercane Tanya.   The Hypercane was so powerful that what little that was left after the hurricanes started was stripped away - leaving tens of thousands dead and billions of dollars in damaged. During the course of the next few years hysteria over the environment and the damage caused swept the world and culminated in the formation a a new multinational super state - the Global Environmental Organization, or G.E.O. was formed and charged to protect and heal the environment and save life on Earth.   In it's 1st year of action in 2020 GEO leaders form a plan with a 100 year goal, keep warming below 3 degrees, protect and expand the Amazon rain forest and other massive carbon syncs, End all usage and harvesting of coal worldwide, The developed world will be either carbon neutral or carbon negative, and finally to reverse polar icecap shrinkage.   For the next 46 years this organization rules and develops and expands its power - taking over worldwide policing and militaries, many governments stagnate as their industries are closed down and their politics deadlock as the US and European Union have. Some countries collapse as China has and become a series of warlords fighting over devastated cities. And some thrive as the new world government pours money and skills into stagnant and crime ridden countries as Brazil and it's neighbors have.
