Sarkon
Sarkon (Niungde: ᠰᠠᠷᠺᠣᠨ ᠵᠤᠷᠤᠨ [sarkʰoŋ t͡ɕʊrʊn] sarkon jurun, "tiger state"), the Can Dynasty (Then: 大燦 [tʰai̯˥.t͡sʰaːn˧˩], Middle Then [dɑiH.t͡sʰɑnH], tai cán, "great brightness") in Then, was an ancient Niungde-ruled Then state which followed a period of division and civil war within Then.
Driven by the disruption caused by the Century Without an Autumn, the Niungdes raided and migrated north and began subjugating their neighbours and absorbing them into their fold as the ariugjai bol. Eventually this great horde stumbled across the great wealth of Then, battered from famine and civil conflict. The lands of Then were weak and divided, and the white tiger banner of the ariugjai bol swept across the land. In 877 Fuyorgan, head of the ruling Niungde Gurchin Alai clan, declared the Can Dynasty, which they called Sarkon.
Sarkon is generally considered the last dynasty of ancient Then, with the following native Gau Dynasty beginning the medieval period in Then.
