The Magi's Guild

"Knowledge, like air, is vital to life"
Centuries have passed since the formation of the Magi, but true even today the mission statement. As a pinnacle of historical research and gate keeping much of the known world is healed within their libraries. With that knowledge has led to some of the greatest wizards throughout Gesseri.
The origins of the Magi like so many older guilds has been told so often it is hard to determine if its the true.  A collective of magic users who found agreement with one another to end a powerful evil to then form a group to never let it transpire again.  With such origins the faith in the guild was maintained for centuries.  That is to say until the Dark History came.  After the events of Omadon's rule the Magi were weaker then ever having lost the trust of nearly the entire world.  With warlocks now obtaining respect once given to other magical users, the Magi had to start from scratch with only the most loyal staying.  With a newly found desire to strength the bonds while expanding the organization they developed The Towers.
Each Mage in the Magi's guild once they become capable enough go into a specialty represented by a tower:

• The Light Tower
• The War Tower
• The Knowledge Tower
• The Mystic Tower
• The Silent Tower

The Light Tower is known for its abilities towards the more positive aspects of spells. From healing, mending, supporting and improving the people around them. In this tower it holds many clerics, druids and paladins.
The War Tower is simply that, a collection of warriors and spellcasters improving upon the capabilities of combat.  Their expertise are within the efforts of destruction and overcoming obsticles in the most efficient manner possible.  Unlike the Light tower it has many wizards and sorcerers, but plenty of paladins whose ideals are less towards peace.
The Knowledge Tower's purpose is preservation and maintianing the history of the world.  They are the presiders of the libraries and sharing of such knowledges once kept secret to the average person. Some are teachers, librarians, researchers, and writers, but there are also the explorers who seek adventure through pulling up new or even ancient forgotten knowledge.  It is one of the few colleges where the diversity of character is also measured in its classes.
The Mystic Tower is the more complicated tower within the Magi.  Their members deal in the caveats of society from trade, commerce, politics, lawmaking, and more of the social aspects of communities.  Unlike the other towers, two members of the mystic tower might be in the same city, but never meet because of the difference in their expertise. It is not uncommon to find bards, rogues, sorcerers, and the occasional fighter within.
The Silent Tower is the smallest, but is the most focused.  They are the mage hunters.  When the control and destruction of so many magical foundations fell the Magi created the Silent Tower to create trust once more.  If a mage loses control, or a group begins to terrorize, a group of the Silent Tower is sent out to calm or obliterate them.  They are often times seen with the Templars when on an important mission.
