Main Timeline, Old World:
Crimm was a priest in a Drachiari temple with Troi.
Troi's father became a Dragon and then a Dracolich, Crimm secretly stole the rituals for both.
The Dracolich trapped Crimm in an artifact for 200 years.
Crimm escapes vows revenge against Dragons, the Dracholich, and the world at large, and he corrupts Troi before his father (the Dracolich) erases Troi's memory, setting Troi on the path of a hero, turning him against Crimm directly. Crimm and Troi journey to study under Xzash Thom, Crimm to study fire magic and Troi to study being an Assassin.
Crimm corrupts the Dragon ritual, giving himself control over Dragons. He begins to assemble and army of them.
Crimm is defeated the first time and imprisoned.
He escapes, and teams up with Mandibarch, Viktor (for only a short time), The Psychic, Cinder the Pyromance, The Sanguimancer, and build a stronghold (now called The Darkhold) into a headquarters. Crimm changes his goal from controlling individual Dragons to control all of them at once (including Tiamat once he freed her).
Main Timeline, Old World (cont.)
The Council of Waterdeep is assembled to figure out what to do about the amassing army of Dragons. Crimm sends a Forest Dragon and a Magma Dragon to attack the Council. The two Dragons are defeated with the help of Zeker and the heroes.
The heroes take the Darkhold in an epic battle, Crimm escapes and goes to free Tiamat. He no longer has enough power to control her, he just wants her to bring chaos and death at this point.
The battle to stop the emergence of Tiamat rages and the heroes barely pull off another victory. During the battle it is revealed that the Planes are going to rattle apart, and it due to an event (the Dracolich) in the past. Crimm is sent to Planar jail, where the Githyanki remove his powers and memories and put them in a prison item. The heroes travel back in time to stop the Dracolich.
Alternate Timeline 1, Old World
The Dracolich was defeated in the past (and messed up the timeline in several ways), so in this timeline Crimm was not a villain, nor was he trapped for 200 years.
Instead, he was a kind old man whose life's work was becoming a tinker and building a Mech Dragon (as awesome as it sounds), which the heroes used against two Grummshes and two Victors with the help of three Lime Sterns (time travel is weird).
Old Crimm had also not corrupted Mandibarch to being a villain, so together the two minds figured out how Crimm could download his conscience into the Mech Dragon when he died.
The heroes were sent back in time to fix the timeline...
Adjusted Main Timeline, Old World
The timeline was restored to nearly the same. In this timeline, however, Crimm had gone South to study Necromancy instead of East to study fire magic. Troi still studied to be an assassin. But Crimm was now Crimm the Black instead of Crimm the Red.
In finding out how the timeline changed, the heroes ended up losing/breaking the amulet that held Crimm's memories and powers from the first timeline. They realized the talisman had also added the lifetime of knowledge and memories of Old Crimm when he passed. With the amulet broken, all the memories of Crimm the Red and Old Crimm went into Crimm the Black.
This caused a dangerous new set of abilities to manifest. His mind was completely shredded into madness, but he had three lifetimes of knowledge, fire magic, necromancy, mech tinkering, and the drachamancy he learned all the way back in the temple.
He didn't get a chance to use them.
On sight, Troi blasted Crimm for 4000 damage with a powerful spell that grew in power over time. Troi had left it in the 200 year past and recovered it in the present. Crimm was reduced to a bleached landscape.
Main Timeline, Present Age
A different group of heroes accidentally frees Yag Zhu.
Yag Zhu succeeds in a terrible ritual powerful enough to raise every dead being on the Neocap, no matter how small the number of atoms.
Crimm was returned to life, now a red skeleton (this being his last form for a split second before being incinerated. Thanks to his own ties to Necromancy and Old Crimm's knowledge of the transference of consciousness from alternate Mandibarch, Crimm was no longer Undead, and therefore not under Yag Zhu's control.
Crimm Baphra joined with Yag Zhu and was simply referred to as the Red General for those who didn't know his history. He just looked like a normal fire skeleton leading an army of other skeletons.
Again a cabal of villains joined forces, including Yag Zhu, Gaerel, a time-traveling Gruumsh, and several others.
Castle Yag Zhu was incinerated in a huge battle against heroes from across the continents and across time. Many of the Old World heroes had been awoken from their stasis ritual, ancient Aergyptian immortals brought powerful magic on the side of heroes, and more than 20 powerful casters were assembled (by the VirtuaVenturers).
The same blast that destroyed the evil castle also created the Swath, and Crimm escaped the battle on a Dracolich.
Main Timeline (cont), Present Age
Now the heroes knew who Crimm was, that he had powers from the Old World (4e), and the threat of his return was a large part of King Gratum's decision to build the New Anfang Academy, or just the Academy, to get ready for his return.
Crimm stayed in the background for a while, converting old Mandibarch labs (the scientist villain having "perished" before the battle of Castle Yag Zhu) and former stasis ritual locations into his own communication and teleportation network. He could come and go to important locations on the Neocap.
One by one, heroes and adventurers began removing these locations, until that group of heroes messed with time metal and were sent back to the distant past. Crimm was quick enough to follow them through.
Alternate Timeline 2, Old World
Crimm the Mad (the present day combination of Crimm the Red, Old Crimm, Crimm the Black, and the Red General) met with his past self at Xzash Thom's Gauntlet.
Both Crimms were defeated, Crimm the Mad was taken into custody by the Time Police, and Crimm the Black resumed his work after escaping Xsash Thom's prison.
Now he marches for Shoreport, and the story of Crimm Baphra continues tonight!
