The Kingdom of Nimeara is one of the longest endured in Galisea. The current dynasty was established 691 years ago, with the rest of the Kingdom. In ancient times, the Nimearans controlled an empire, also known as the Kingdom of Nimeara, that spread from their safe haven in the Odric Mountains to the coastline to the west and north. Recently, the Aarumites have raided the outer region of the Kingdom, which is poorly defended. Every time the Aarumites raid, they get further and further into the Kingdom – and some have begun to grumble about it – though it hardly is a challenge to the Queen's rule.
Unfortunately, she's stepping down soon. Her health is failing and she plans to live the last of her years in contemplative study of the texts of the Zehlat. Sensing an opening, it's been rumored that disgruntled members of the Nimearan Guard are going to make a move on the throne to install a more militant ruler, one who will take the threat of the Aarumites more seriously. The Kingdom is in no shape for a power struggle – in fact most of the population is unaware that one is even possible.
