The Order of the Argent Raven is a knightly order based in Aeilla that was originally formed to protect the artifacts and symbols of the The Aeillan Empire for the event of Aeillan reunification, in the name of Sextana Hadriana Raruos, who an imperial cult had formed around. The Order was founded in the aftermath of the Aeillan Succession War, das the old empire began to fragment into the Aeillan Successor States. Originally it guarded the culturally and religious important places within Aeilla, as well as protecting certain artifacts from looting or damage. However, as the time since the fall of the Empire has gone on, the Argent Raven's mandate has expanded to protection of Southern Galisea from extraplanar threats, particularly fiendish incursions. It has also adopted a more syncretic view of the faith though Hadriana remains the matron goddess officially.
The order has, since its inception been headed by Annwyn a Human of exceptionally long lifespan, and of entirely unknown origins, that has consistently occupied the title of Grandmistress. The ancient woman has guided the Order for over five centuries and is highly devoted to Hadriana, believed to contact her directly through high order magic. The order's ranks have grown significantly in recent years as the mission of the order has expanded, and as fiendish incursions become increasingly frequent in Southern Galisea.
