Bassam shows up with his retinue of 15, who immediately move to disarm the Sorenians in the room, despite Faolan's attempt at intimidation. However, Riven is able to cow them into line. Bassam departs to go tour the rest of the compound. Later, Yusuf and Ravadi are left to hash out the details of the peace agreement, Riven trusting the two of them to be able to sort it out, though she does warn Yusuf about Bassam. The party makes their way to Ìmbrìl's ship, the Lost Cause. In 20 days, they return to Mysteria. Waiting for them on the docks is the man Faolan left in charge of the guard, with a solemn face and informs him that one of the undisciplined new recruits killed one of the more disciplined recruits from when they first started. They head to the stronghold, where the soldier is being held, where they also meet up with André.
