Theodora Victoria Laskaris (/ θiodora vɪktoria laskɑrɪs /)
Theodora Victoria Laskaris elected the first Proconsula of the newly established Nikean Republic (at the strong encouragement of the Mother of the Republic), has recently become one of the most powerful people in the Aeillan region. She is a reformist through and through, and has embarked on a great program to reorient power away from the old aristocracy and towards a growing class of merchants and skilled craftspeople. She is also pushing to expand the influence of Nikea, by pushing for war with Spathos (and her personal rival, the Exarchissa Anna Deletrios), and pressuring the Korentine factions into annexation at the hands of Nikea. Many have accused her of being a mouthpiece for the Mother of the Republic (and indeed their personal relationship is extensive, and in the eyes of some, suspect), however, her policies have prooved popular with the ascendant merchant class, and the commons have been roused by nationalistic rhetoric coming from the new Senate.
