Yìnhànà's Warning

Yìnhànà's Warning is a passage written at the end of the final Èlbrìles of Imperial Archdruid Val'sösh Yìnhànà. The prophecy is notable for it's eerily-accurate prediction of the Feloran Empire's collapse. Though the prophecy does not mention when it is supposed to happen, it predicted the succession of crises that brought the Empire down, and it prophesied that it would happen quickly.

Summary

The Stewards of Felora, which includes the Imperial Court, will destroy the Empire in prosecuting their lust for power. They will be mislead by a "house of schemers" who wish to outshine the prestige of the Àntrepari, whom they are resentful of. The schemers will present themselves as great and brilliant leaders, but the warning signs are there.   Said signs include a failure by the nobles to follow the Ritual of Succession that is supposed to occur when an Imperial Sovereign dies, an Elhyaean practice introduced during the reign of Gardoum II of the Naezorwyn Dynasty. The schemers will also be identifiable by "feather worship" - referring to the predatory Soraì eagle, a species of eagle growing up to 16kg that would prey on the livestock of Sorenian and Lumoran farmers, and who's Yīra featured as notably untrustworthy in most lore, with an insatiable hunger.   "Our children will be born in a prosperous Empire and take their Törn'kèu in a new dark age", closes the work, and is the warning that gives the work it's title.

Historical Basis

Yìnhànà was the final Archdruid of the Empire to serve the last dynasty of the Mirenelis Noble House. In the waning years of the dynasty, the other noble houses, notable the Kaelbryns, increasingly clamoured for influence in the courts of Emperor Leswena V his successor, Empress Selera II. The symbol of the Kaelbryn noblity includes a stylised depiction of the head of a Soraì bird for their crest.

Cultural Reception

In the Dotharan Alliance, it is one of the Elhyaean myths given the most credence, as many Dotharans (and the Dotharan State) see the prophecy as having come true and see the Kaelbryn Restoration as the beginning of a series of events that brought the prophecy to fruition, as the Northern Invasions burdened Imperial Institutions, inflamed tensions with Dwarves, Humans, and Orcs, and eventually lead to the worst famine in Feloran history.
