Crown Prince Aranrata is coronated after the death of his father during the Sacking of Soren. While he does take the Steward's Scepter, he refuses to claim the Sorenian Throne in the Royal Palace, and addresses the Royal Court nearby in the ruins of the once-elegant and lush Gardens of Kèulɦ. During the address, he claims the title of "Protector of the Feloran Realms of Soren & Lumora" and labels himself its "Sovereign".
Naming himself Protector of the Feloran Realms of Soren & Lumora, he established his seat of power in Lumora away from the royal palace in Soren and set about characterizing the Sovereignty as a temporary phase in the inevitable rule of the Felorans over the other races.
