Sarendian Trust founded

Founding

Some of the unified guilds from Sàrèn and Erintrel merge their leadership structures and harmonise their rules and standards. Significant is the wide range of Guilds that joined the agreement - in addition to the long-established artisan and mercantile guilds from the Empire, laborer's guilds instrumental in the reopening of trade on the Grand Feloran Canal are party to the agreement.

Guilds experienced in operating in the former Republic of Erintrel adopted responsibities and actions atypical of most guilds elsewhere in the known world. Due to the absence of authority, members of various guilds began relying on each other for protection and for access to resources and materials for survival. This strengthened the organisation of these guilds, who began hiring their own guards, expanding their Halls to include defensive fortifications, and defending territories where their members lived. When the Republic of Erintrel was annexed, those who had stayed in it's territory continued this practice. With the consolidation of Sàrène and Erintrène Guilds, these practices were adopted by their Sàrène members, often as part of the conditions for consolidation.   The four founding members of the Trust were: the League of Canal Merchants, a mercantile guild consisting of canal merchants operating on the Grand Feloran Canal and the former-Imperial (now Feloran) Canal System; the League of Shipwright's, Sailors, and Bargemen, a laborer's guild consisting of shipbuilders, sailors from the larger ocean-fairing vessels, and operators of the non-merchant vessels in the canals; the Smith's Guild, an artisan guild of blacksmiths; and the Guild of Architects, Planners, and Recordkeepers, the youngest of the founding members, who previously would have been part of the imperial bureaucracy.
