Abolishment of Slavery & the Je'thor Reformations

Revolution

2455
2453

Centuries of sporadic slave uprisings were efficiently stomped out for the most part, until the actions of Thröm and Yuileïa, an unlikely alliance and friendship between an Orc warrior-poet and exiled Prince of the Feloran Empire, lead to an Empire-wide revolution. Culminating in the Je'thor Reformations, which saw the role of the Feloran Emperor become largely ceremonial, and the creation of numerous Feloran institutions which still exist today.

Included in these Feloran institutions were regional or local councils, now called Je'thor Councils in many Feloran communities. Additionally, the reform also seperated the Stewardship from the Throne. Both positions, however, remained within the control of Feloran Nobility, with the requirement that no single house may hold both the Emperor's throne and the Steward's scepter. The remaining houses formed the Imperial Council, a permanent advisory board that would also settle succession disputes, where each house had one representative. It resulted in end of the 1st Èrintrèlis Dynasty and the institution of the Meilëln Dynasty with Emperor Yuileïa as it's first soveriegn.   Soren was formally made the capital of the Empire, and the Emperor was required to take up residence in the Imperial Court.   In Tìl Formen'ya, the House Formeni used the power from their newly bestowed noble status to found the creation of the University of Formeni, now the University of Melnor, for the House's head and first Chancellor of the school, Melnor Formeni.
