The coronation of Empress Maelyrra Kaelbryn, a daughter of the House of Kaelbryn, a family of nobles in the Empire reknowned for their infamous desire to expand the Empire. The family had at various times had one of their own ruling the Court, however the family lost favor with the other houses due to this reputation. Empress Maelyrra III set out reforming the Feloran Empire, strengthening it's military and codifying the Imperial Tax Regime.
Empress Maelyrra, 204 at the time of her coronation, seized on the previous dynasties' slow accumulation of power from other Je'thor Reformation Institutions to establish a strong Imperial Authority, immune from challenge from outside the Nobility or Ekoran Conclave, and able to rule by edict on matters of war and foreign policy. Her rule would last for over 300 years, the conclusion of which had seen the Feloran Empire move to become an intercontinental empire with its first overseas province established before her death. Her son, Adresin, would at first expand Feloran holdings to most of the southern coastline of the Northern Continent (Galisea), before overextending the Empire's resources. During and after her reign, there were hushed voices suggesting that her reign was engineered, and her/her family involved in a conspiracy to seize power. Evidence has emerged since the collapse of the Empire to corroborate these rumours. The Maelyrra Court faced continual controversy within the Feloran Empire for it's conservative attitude towards "common" law.
