Oggaruk City Laws
The Codified Laws and Punishments in the City of Oggaruk. All laws and punishments have been handed down by The Vigilance, and any additional rules or regulations are handled by the Guilds, unless a specific City Law must be decreed.
Purpose
To codify a set of rules and regulations to govern lawbreakers within the city and reach of Oggaruk.

Caveats
A person accused of a crime set forth here may either accept the punishment laid forth, or petition a ruling by a magistrate of the city.
The magistrate shall hear witnesses and listen to all testimony, including that of the accused, and consider any circumstances that lessen our increases the severity or depravity of the crime.
The magistrate may then declare their judgements, and increase or decrease the punishment, within reason, for the accused, or pardon or set release.
Publication Status
The City Laws are publicly displayed at the entrance to the city, carved in bronze plates. Additional copies can be requested from the Guardsmen Guild.
Legal status
These laws apply to all residents, visitors or property within the city of Oggaruk, lands controlled by the city, and surrounding areas in direct control of the city.
Historical Details
Background
Oggaruk had previously been ruled by noble whim, with no set of legal systems in place. The publishing of the City Laws regulated behaviors and their punishments for the first time in the city's history.
Public Reaction
Overall the public was pleased with a set of established and codified rules, though the punishments were considered a bit lax.
