Ghiadum
The continent Ghiadum gave birth to one of the Five Original Races: The Elves. Their Stone Age lasted only a few decades; with the Elves' superior intellect and curiosity, their tight-knit communities were rapidly evolved into a high class society. Born with powerful magic to control the elements, they brought on the Crystal Age of the land, with towering cities across the entire continent made of quartz and other minerals . The largest city was named Dimonderion, and it was the capitol of Ghiadum. There they elected their first king, King Midor.
The continent was peaceful until the invading Humans crossed the Gypsum Sea in the East. They attacked the coastal cities and claimed them as their own. The Elves were not accustom to war and had no military to protect them from the invaders. Eventually the remaining Elves fled North, where the Humans could not follow due to such harsh weather.
They were guided by what they now call the three Guardians of the Wild: The Elk, The Owl, and the Fox. The Elk led the groups of Elves through the deep pine forests while Owl scouted ahead for any danger, and Fox protected them by attacking any human threats that ventured too close to the groups.
There they settled in the mountain valleys and named it The Valley of the Northern Wind. They built a new capitol, Dunstromm.
As humans invaded and discovered the magic Elves held, they began to experiment with it, especially on animals. These experiments created the Leothera, a race of humanoid lions who fled to the Bahadur Grasslands in the west to escape persecution. There they grew in numbers and invaded human cities. The Humans did not try to retake them; fearful of the animalistic race.
As magic spilled carelessly in the land by the humans, trees became magical. After years of magic waste, they developed their own thoughts and emotions, and seeds became physical bodies. The Trent were born. They grew in the deep rainforests of the South, places where humans only went to hunt game. They became the protectors of the forests and humans stopped coming.
The last race was the Fae, small but powerful people with wings that carried them great distances. They held more magic than any other race, and could control time and space itself. Because of their power, the humans hunted them into extinction, and a great deal of magic was lost from the land. This brought on the Diamond Age, where all the races suffered from the lack of magic.
During this age, King Mstislav was in power in the Valley of the Northern Wind. He treated his people terribly, forcing them to work as slaves to the crown. Sensing the humans' weakness, he created the Winter Army and attacked the Human kingdom of Luxidel. The humans, although weak without their magical tools, defeated the wrathful king and put an end to his corrupt reign. After that, the Valley created the High Council: a group of representatives elected by the people. They made peace with the Humans and ushered in the Pacem, an age of peace and growth in culture and economy between the Humans and the Elves.
With the drastic changes in magic, the races began to change. The Elves had evolved into the Dahl, hardy people with sharp teeth and a strong resistance to cold. The Trent became more and more humanoid, now looking like people with bark for skin and leaves for hair. These people were called the Trentalvi.
Even the Leothera had evolved into the Pardi, a race of panther-like humanoids with spots and an aggressive nature. They wanted the Dahl lands in the North because of their large deposit of natural resources and gemstones. The Dahl-Pardi war began, and has not stopped since.
