The Haunted House
A thick, unsettling stillness surrounds this place, leaving shivers down the spine of those who simply glances towards it from the road. Cloaked in shadows of the forest, this dilapidated house still stands, forsaken and overgrown, with a whisper of old pride and history, now unknown and forgotten. Those brave and foolish enough to venture inside has never returned, leaving their fate inside unknown, but leaving the people of Saltmarsh certain of their imminent death. What fate befell the adventures inside, and who will this house claim next?
According to legend, an alchemist (see The Alchemist) lived in this now haunted place. A tragic but mysterious incident claimed his life, leaving only his ghost to walk through halls.
The party decided to explore the place and fell upon a smuggler operation (see San Balet's Smugler Organization) belonging to a pirate named San Balet. After being kept captive by Sanbalet, the party escaped the house and brought Sanbalet back to Saltmarsh for trial.
Months later, the King has granted Andor - a veteran who served the Crown - the house for his service. Andor sought the party's help to clear the reminder of the basement which was left untouched. In the locked room, the party stumbled upon a ghost with a pointy hat and long, white beard. With his powers, he summoned skeletons to fight them, but the party fortunately defeated him, turning the ghost into a pile of calcium. The room led to an office with treasure, including a Deed to the Haunted House. On the deed, it described that the house belonged to the brother of Abigail's grandfather.
Now Abigail is left with two choices: Should Abigail claim the house that is legally hers, but risk a divide between the council and Saltmarsh and Keoland, or should she remain silent and keep the peace?
Alterations
After Andor was granted the house, the workers he hired has begun on some renovations.
