Loyalists

The quite town of Saltmarsh has long been known as a small fishing village and a welcome resting area between @Seaton and [CAPITAL CITY]. The villagers enjoy being way from the hussle and bustle of high society, and, most importantly, the critical and overbearing gaze of King Scotti.   Two years ago increased activity in the Saltmarsh Mines brought more Dwarves and royal guard. Townspeople hoped this would go away and life would soon return to normal. This has not been the case. After the defeat at the hands of the Sea Princes, King Scotti's gaze has been fixed on Saltmarsh, and with that attention came a small and rising community, known as the Loyalists, eager to see this backwater town thrust into the national spotlight.   Loyalists see the increased mine activity as a promise for futuer economic prosperity. They see their hopes and dreams promoted in the Saltmarsh Town Council by Council Members Manistrad Copperlocks and Eliander Fireborn. Loyalists see the rising taxes as signs of promised economic development and prosperity.   As a whole, the Dwarven community sees the Loyalist position as the one giving the most political cover and protection from the antagonistic Traditionalists. They care little for King Scotti and his policies, but appreciate the increased trade and work that his policies provide. After years of marginalization in Saltmarsh, the increased Dwarven presence and the appointment of Manistrad Copperlocks gives a glimmer of hope that the community hasn't felt in several decades.

Beauty Ideals

The Loyalists are interested in more of the mainstream, popular fashions promoted in [CAPITAL CITY]. The newest fashions are often too expensive to purchase with a sailors income, but the families do their best to create their own patterns modeled after the current trends. Purchased clothing styles are usually treasured, especially by the Saltmarsh teens. When a style starts to go out of fashion at the Capital, many Saltmarsh loyalists will try to buy the clothing at a discount. Because of this, Saltmarsh styles tend to be a few years behind the rest of the country. As the tourism picks up in the town, this delay has become more pronounced, much to the dismay of many Saltmarsh trendsetters.
