Scarlet Brotherhood

Spoilers for the Ghost of Saltmarsh. If you are a Saltmarsh Rebel, turn back now.
The Scarlet Brotherhood is a society of assassins, rogues, and monks dedicated to rebuilding the Olalar Empire. Hidden throughout Keoland and the Sea Prince Nations, they seek to destabalize local and national governments and restore the Olalar line. They work in the shaddows, referring to each other in codes and siphers. While the average person would not recognize the name, members in law enforcement recognize the black red-lined robes and the distinctive dagger.

Agenda

After the The Great War the elven Queen Zaleria Olalar was removed from her throne and beheaded. The war lead to the separation of her nation and the creation of what is know known as Keoland and the Sea Prince Nations. Her daughter was smuggled out during the war and groomed by the brotherhood for power that never came. The brotherhood protects her bloodline and works opportunistically in the shadows, manipulating events to restore the Heir of Olalar to their rightful place.

Within Saltmarsh

The candleman [redacted]Skerrin Wavechaser[/redacted] currently has blackmail information on each of the Saltmarsh Town Council members and is manipulating them to vote against each other. This prolonged division has exacerbated tensions within the community. He has also responsible for organizing the fires near kingfisher river, and kidnapping Elisandria Fireborn. These events are considered catalysts for the current Saltmarsh Riots. He hopes that the ensuing riots will force the Keoland Royal Army to suppress the riots, sparking an all out rebellion in the region.

Ranks and Roles

There are three pillars within the organization: intelligence gatherers, assassins, and guards. Both intelligence gatherers and assassins work their way in to various organizations and governments. Overlap between the two is rare, but not unheard of. Members of the Shadowed Guard are responsible for protecting the heir to the Olalar line. Senior members gain the authority to command lower-ranked members. Some have agents assigned to their protection and service. All of them report to the Mother of Submission   Full membership is granted only to those who carry Olalar blood. Partial membership is granted to those who swear a blood oath to the Olalar line. By mixing in Olalar blood directly into the blood stream, they are considered adopted cousins. Cousins are not permitted to have leadership roles within the organization, but are provided access to the same safe houses and resources as full members.
