The White Crystal

An alien named Ytrunwi is mining deep inside the moon tunnels for resources to fix his ship. He finds the White Crystal and places it in a sample box and teleports it back to his ship. The crystal’s power immediately fixes his ship and he gets the notification from his visual hub. He teleports back to his ship, where his brother Jon is bewildered by the crystal’s power. He immediately begins asking of its origins and how his brother found it. They take it back to their shelter/base and cross reference it. Ytrunwi discovers it’s a fragment of the source behind the Big Bang. He immediately flees with the crystal and flies out of the galaxy, across the universe, crashing on a snowy mountain in Northern Ghostwood. He immediately hides the crystal. Jon learns of this information and pursues him, finding him and demanding the crystal—only to kill Ytrunwi out of rage. Jon, like a multitude of characters in the story—now seeks the White Crystal as well. But he knows not why he has this obsession and his introspections on this matter drive him further into insanity.

History

Forged by the Big Bang—as the only remnant of the source behind the explosion. It is thrown through the universe indefinitely, crashing through planets quickly and leaving bizarre residue in its path. Eventually, it’s impact slowed down until it crash landed deep inside a moon of a distant galaxy.

Significance

The White Crystal, as a fragment of the source of the Big Bang, holds immense power. It is essentially a residue of the very energy that created the universe. Consequently, any deity, lifeform, or spirit that comes into prolonged contact with the Crystal gains complete omnipotence, wielding the power to control the universe at will. The potential for absolute power makes the White Crystal an object of extreme desire and conflict, further fueling the tumultuous events in Ghostwood. Its potential for both creation and destruction is unlimited, and its ultimate use depends on the will and intentions of whoever manages to possess it.
