Aquitanias (Ah-qwih-tayn-ee-ahs)
Based on a combination of Asturias, Portugal, and Aquitaine, this country considers itself the best of all worlds and perfect just the way it is, thank you very much. They carved a castle out of a mountain. The carved churches out of the mountains. They carved a lot of things straight out of the mountains, and they are well protected by them. They imported only the finest stained glass, gold, silver, and china. They are a rather small section of the continent of Civilis when compared to everything they consider to be their empire: chunks of Hyperborea, Eastern Kipatria, Meridea, and Carithmia. They pride themselves on their trade and their ability to attain such valuable goods that gold is basically worthless within the confines of their Civilisian borders - they actually have too much of it. They are also proud to say they haven't lost all their colonies, unlike Gutonia.
This place is of significant importance to Xavi's backstory. Aquitanias once tried to conquer Cicaelia. His father, a Jew who was forced to convert and become adopted by a Yeshuan family, was sent to fight there. He fell in love with Xavi and Bekah's mother instead, and their names reflect their mother's love for her first husband, who was named Itzaac by his birth parents. The poor man died in battle. But his family lives on. Xavi's youngest biological uncle, his father's adopted brother Erden, became a certain "diamond in the rough," while the second-eldest adopted brother became Jafar himself. While Aquitanias must exist in order for their story to be told, it is fair to say that the family has had their share of pain related to it.

Culture
Basque and Spanish culture, flavored with Latinx and some North African, but strictly confined to the elements that are permissible in a very straight-forward reading of Yeshuanism. So, you might only rest on the Holy Days...but on the bright side, there are a lot of holy days.
Assets
An unusually high amount of myrtillite for a region not dominated by Empyreans.
History
Starting as part of the Gutonian empire under Adrian the great, the region gained independence when Gutonia was busy crusading in East Kipatria.
Agriculture & Industry
Incredibly rich farmland that provides all the grains, veggies, fruits, and wine your heart desires, plus lots of space for livestock.
