Personal history

The Wave Abbey is the lead ship in a rather large, self-titled conclave of ships. Made up of five ships, each with their own purpose and profession. These ships travel the wide vast ocean of I Meer Aleazim, or The Great Sea. Traveling from port city to port city, trading goods among the three continents of Patrida, Albalad Al'umi and Heimat.   The Wave Abbey leads the fleet insuring the safety and protection of all those who call this conclave home. And the abbey is where Lee Ri, the 25 year old halfling, calls home. Born and raised with her twin brother Ade on the Abbey, Lee Ri was trained to follow in her family's footsteps and become a Monk. Monks are the main profession of the Abbey, able to stride from one ship to another with grace and elegance, while offering both defense and offense. Being a Monk is no simple task but Lee Ri took to it like a fish to water - despite having a cruel and relentless Master. As a final exam to become a full fledged monk, Lee Ri has to face off against Master Jorwin.   Unfortunately, her brother did not take to the way of the monk as easily as his sister. Ade began to randomly set things on fire with his mind. He had begun to show his affinity for magic - he was undoubtedly a Sorcerer. No matter how much Ade tried to control his gift, he couldn't. More than once he almost caused grievious harm to another resident of the conclave. Lee Ri's parents would stay up late on those nights, trying to think of a way to help their poor little boy.   One day, a priestess of a new religion boarded the conclave, preaching and trying to convert new members. She was simply stunning to look at, and spoke like an angel. Everyone loved her, even Lee Ri's highly skeptical parents. The Priestess took special interest in Ade, she would always call him her "Special Boy." Ade would go on and on about how "my magic just flows better when I'm around her! I can actually control it!" The final day that the Priestess was with the conclave, she approached Lee Ri's parents and offered to help Ade with his training, but he would need to go with her. While the Ri family was in dire need of someone to help their child, they just could not let him leave. They would miss him too much. The Priestess insisted, but they refused, no matter how much she persisted. The following day when the ship landed at a port city on Heimat, the Priestess left and that night Ade woke from a night terror covered in flame and starting a large fire on the ship.   While the ship lit like a roman torch, a small cluster of ships began to approach The Wave Abbey, unknown to the residents of the conclave. They boarded the ship and in the confusion that ensued began to fight and pillage the ships. The Monks of the Abbey leaped into action and began to defend the conclave. Lee and Ade were forced behind iron bars by their parents and told not to come out. Ade began to cry and wail about how this was all his fault. Because apprentice monks are forbidden from entering real battle until they have taken their final exam, all Lee Ri could do was try to watch the fight unfolding through the smoke and ash. She saw none other than the Priestess striding across the deck of the ship towards herself and Ade. Lee Ri's parents darted out in front of the woman, but with a flick and a twirl the Priestess cut both of their throats and continued to stride toward the two children. Lee Ri looked over to Ade, but he hadn't been watching, he was still crying into his hands. The Priestess walked up to the bars and softly said to Ade, "come here child, come with me, this will never happen again." Lee Ri cried out, "No! Get away from my brother!" Off in the distance a gruff man that must've come on board with the invaders shouts to the Priestess, "Barooka! Hurry up we need to get going!" With that Barooka touches Ade and both of them disappear and reappears next to the man, jumping over board. Lee Ri swings the iron bars open and runs to the edge of the ship, but with all the smoke and ash in the air she is unable to see where her brother has gone.   Shortly after, Lee Ri took her final exam against Master Jorwin. Master Jorwin was not a man to be meddled with, even if he was just a gnome, if anything his short stature made him even more vicious. In the end Lee Ri's rage and fury fueled her fight and she was victorious, though it nearly costed her her eye.
