The Azure Circle

Formed as a special task force by the Illum Police Department over forty years ago, the Azure Circle deals with renegade mages and magical crimes. Originally, they were confined within the borders of the Gavendell Union, but slowly managed to increase their influence on continent of Alderfell. This primarily happened through the use of treaties made by the Gavendell Union with neighbouring territories such as Valmyrdia, Stalldengard and the Aldmarro Republic. These treaties allowed agents of the Azure Circle to cooperate with local law enforcement agencies in allied nations in order to solve crimes and track down mages using magic forbidden by the Arcanum Conclave.
After the end of the Great Conflict, it was decided that from that moment on the jurisdiction of the Azure Circle would include the entire Alderfell continent. While the main office of the Circle would remain in Illum, this decree allowed the organization to open small local branches in the surviving nations.
The Azure Circle is currently lead by the Half-Orc Phinelia Balestone.
