E'erendar

The God of the End of All Things, Lord Finis Ultimus

At the end of the world, the King of Eternal Absence and lord of evil will come seeking vengeance. He will devour all souls and destroy all life, forever. The sky will fall, the earth will become ash, and the sea will turn red. From the Maelstrom will rise the daughter of the Queen of Light, and in the moment of truth she will awaken as the third vessel of Veniathan, and with the power of the goddess and her own great power, she will stop the Infinite One. Thus will the fate of all creatures be restored.

-The fatal prophecy of Tirosanioth

E'erendar is one of the nine High Gods, the Ancient Ones, that come from the deepest realm of Existence. He is the god of the End of All Things, of permanent, infinite ending, of pure void, of eternal absence. Where Gods of Death exist in tandem with Life, in sync, in oneness, E'erendar is duality. He is the precise opposite of life, of existence. He is a being of consumption, of total destruction, of hate and yawning, unfillable void. Where other High Gods are like bright giant stars, E'erendar is a black hole. He is incapable of being satiated or satisfied. He is the only one of the nine highest gods to encompass the entirety of his own domain himself, and has no other gods that come from him.

He was one of the gods that raged the most powerfully in the War of Nine, the ancient war fought between gods. He commanded vast armies of demons and malicious entities, waging his destruction and havoc and burning through each realm, his sights set on conquering the mortal realm. He wielded one of the first ancient blades crafted for the other gods by the forge father Ferus, the DeathSword, Canorsolanim. Other than the other nine High Gods, the one who opposed him most fiercely in the War of Nine was Veniathan. As the goddess of time and memory, Veniathan embodies eternal presence, so she and E'erendar, who is eternal absence, are inherently at odds, cosmic enemies. Veniathan pursued E'erendar to the mortal realm, where he was defeated and imprisoned. Since then, E'erendar has sworn vengeance against Veniathan and all she represents.

After the War of Nine, E'erendar attempted to return to the mortal realm, broken out of his divine prison by his most loyal servant and weapon, Canorsolanim, but in the century since the end of the war Veniathan's power had only grown, and in her second mortal vessel, thwarted E'erendar again. But, E'erendar is as relentless as he is eternal. He will never stop his rampage, too obsessed with the eradication of all Existence. He discarded Canorsolanim, who failed him, and devised a plan to return again, this time ensuring his victory

The Cult of End was formed by E'erendar's mortal followers after his second defeat. Worship is a god's sustenance, so he used his devoted forces to spread worship of him further, feeding his power. He used the cult to undermine Veniathan, and the kingdom of her followers, Tirosanioth, was destroyed. With Veniathan so weakened, all but forgotten by mortals, E'erendar has now spent centuries simmering in his hatred and hunger, lying in wait as his power grows and grows, until the rapidly approaching day that he inhabits a mortal vessel of his own, and enacts his ultimate design. He is certain that this time, nothing will be able to stop him.
