Lighthouse of Ashidakh

They used to say that the Lighthouse of Ashidakh was visible from every town and city on the coast of the Entanre Sea. It's obviously ridiculous but it's an inspiring thought
— Historian of Quldafjord
The Lighthouse of Ashidakh was on the shores of the island of the same name, within the port of Medla. It was constructed around 236 TF as instructed by the Rhussom Empire to assist in navigation in the Entanre Sea, as the islands of Ashidakh and Wedham we surrounded by perilous low waters with occasional beds of rocks. As time went on, the lighthouse was upgraded and well-maintained, becoming a symbol of the Rhussom Empire's control over the Entanre Sea.   It was said that the lighthouse managed multiple lights, to convey different meanings to nearby ships, and to send code messages to the Imperial fleets. A lot of the secrets of the lighthouse have now gone.   Around the end of the eight century of the Age of the Third Clans, the falling of the Rhussom Empire lead the Akralleans to attack Ashidakh, pillage the port, and burn the lighthouse until it was nothing. It's said that this was the signal that the Rhussom Empire was no longer the ruler of the sea.   Since then, Ashidakh has had a lighthouse, but the story of the original lighthouse prevails as a legend and mark of honour for the island.

Purpose / Function

The lighthouse was built to first warn ships of the low waters surrounding the centre isles of Ashidakh and Wedham, but records state that the lighthouse was enhance with lights that could change color, that could be blocked and revealed to flash, and the lights could change direction to shine to specific points on the sea.   The true nature of the lighthouses capabilities have been lost since the lighthouse was destroyed, and all is left are various eye-witness accounts of variable trustworthiness.
