The Quldfjordian International Message Service, known colloquially as the QRDS (pronounceds kurds) or the Red Riders, are a massive nationalised coorporation formed by Quldfjord to imrpove communications across Eleanor. It was a massive effort of peacekeeping on the Quldfjordians to provide a franchise and service across all the nations of Eleanor and guarantee easy means for any denizen to send a message to anywhere across the continent.
The various QRDS Stations that exist are owned by Quldfjord, acting as embassies and sanctuaries to people. They must operate under the local judicial systems, and profits are distributed to the local governments, with a cut returning back to Quldfjord. Quldfjord allows the loss in operation costs for the benefit of the ease of access communications channels.
The Stations are manned by local riders who take are paid to take messages to the next stations on route, creating a network of passing documents. The Red Riders are those that travel the great distances between the Stations. The Blue Riders are the name given to the locals that distribute messages from the Station to their settlement. Blue Riders are often older citizens and Red Riders that can no longer make the longer journeys.
