Their necks are segmented with armored plates that flare away from their bodies in a resemblence of a mane. Their heads are also built to resemble a horse's though they have bug eyes and their heads are made of the same hard shell like the rest of their bodies.
Genetics and Reproduction

Growth Rate & Stages
Hatching occurs roughly 4 months after the eggs have been laid from which the enter into a foal like life stage where they subsist on regurgitated food from their mother. After an additional two months they gain the ability to eat solid food themselves and are largely independent. At 1 year old they are considered adults though they continue to grow until year 3.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Their diets consist of fruit, grass and grains allowing them to be raised alongside horses.
Behaviour
They are very docile creatures, making them easy prey in the wild, however they are also herd animals offering them some protection in numbers. Due to their calm and docile natures as well as their strength and heartyness they are often used as beasts of burden and pack animals.
