Gloratium

A world not much unlike our own, Gloratium is situated in a small solar system of four other planets and an orange star. The world is filled with various race living in a renaissance age. Stone work is common, and large cities have emerged behind great walls. Some peoples have the power to control a natural force in the world known as The Aura, gifted to them by their gods in what was known as The Gift. Today certain peoples are able to use this power and it is typically passed down through generations of family although some people can acquire The Gift through chance. It is also possible for people to be born into a Gifted family and not be able to use the Gift.

Hundreds of years ago a civilization of elves and dragonbornd known simply as the Forefathers conquered the entire world of Gloratium. They came from a now submerged continent in the middle of the Silver Ocean, where they had developed a society in which the Aura reigned supreme. They also possessed advanced forging techniques used to shape the metal known as Silver Glass, an abundant found on their home continent. They quickly subdued the unorganized kingdoms and smaller fiefdoms of the mainlands. The Forefathers, by this time known as the Republic of the Silver Sun, ruled during the era known as Silver Dawn, which saw great advancements in technology and learning. They built enormous castles and temples to their gods.

However during a catastrophic tectonic event, The Cataclysm, their continent fractured and enormous portions sank just below sea level, killing millions. This eventually led to the downfall of their grand empire, the beginning of the Silver Dusk era, and the creation of the six major kingdoms that exist today.
