Credence
Credence
Credence is an Apparent, believed to be the living embodiment of ties that bind floating motes of the Awareness of the Song of Creation together. As all mortal beings are the Song made manifest, It could be argued as the embodiment of promise, faith, fellowship, and empathy.
Very little is known or recorded about Credence. Infact, the only known representation or evidence for Its existence is that found as a statue on the Isle of Vot in Gol-Kasha. There, It is represented as a vaguely humanoid (or perhaps goblinoid) creature, whose body is comprised of a single uninterrupted ribbon of bronze woven around and upon Itself to give It shape. Around Its head is a halo made from Itself, and Its hands are shown outstretched and palms up.
Motivations
Despite being an Apparent embodying pacts and ties, Credence is curiously absent from Harmony, and indeed there are no writings of scholars suggesting interactions with the Apparent on other planes within Creation either. This may indicate that the Apparent cares little for Creation any more — though this seems suspect — or more likely that the Apparent is no longer present within the Song. Though not actively enforcing Its will, Credence appears to have favoured the Temple of Vot, which seems to have been some form of uniting place pre-Disjunction. As such, it can be assumed that Credence sought to guide mortals in fellowship and unity.
