Firepollen
Firepollen is a flower that grows in cold-to-temperate climates along the western half of Syvat, particularly throughout the Kiol Downs. It requires a large amount of water, but also significant drainage, making it a common site on hillsides near large bodies of fresh water.
Firepollens are tap-rooted, perennial, herbaceous plants, growing in small clumps that rarely reach more than 2cm in height, but sprawl out 20–50cm from their central stem. During Spring, Firepollens grow long stalks between 15–20cm, from which sprout balls of delicate "parachuting" seeds. These seeds are highly flammable, using fire to open their husks to germinate.
Firepollen is known to by highly resonant with fire and flame, making it a natural catalyst for magic users which employ such spells. Among the Kioldaw, the flower is held in great respect, for indelicate use of its seeds can lead to devestating forest fires.
