Brawhrn: The Legend Haunted Town

The Town of Branhwrn   A large town located in Wales with only four roads, a single river and rail line leading into and out of the town. Made from the abanonded ruins of a previous town burned by aronson many years ago it was rebuild by a group of people wishing to make a new home.   As the town thrived began to take shape the town experienced a spree of disappearances and mysterious murders. These incidents were accompanied by tales of seeing strange creatures and people performing unspeakable rituals in the woods. These tales of witchcraft and monster sightings put the town in a paranoid frenzy and a witch hunt would consume the town for a decade, killing more people than the prepators behind the disappearances could ever hope to achieve.   After this incident the town began to recover and recover it did for it began to enjoy the wonders of the industrial revolutions, and also experience the woes it caused. Yet even as the soot and ashes from the factories blanked the sky, and machines and scientific progress clouded people's thoughts the old legends of Branhwrn never truly died. Indeed, even in a time of great technological change more stories of mysticism and supernatural horror would still occur in the town.   Now in modern times the town is famed for the university which shares it's name, yet it is also infamous for the many dark legends that haunt the town and the incidents of cults who have committed terrible crimes within it. While the tien officials have seemingly embraced the legends and use the town's reputation to attract tourists most don't believe in any of them, not even most officials. Yet for the residents of the town, especially the older residents, they know that there are many secrets lurking within their town. Secrets they know not to search less they wish to invite misfortune into their lives.
