The Town of Branhwrn

A town of contradictions. A town where it's semi-rural roots still persist to the modern day yet not to far it's urbanized future looms close. A town with buildings both made in historical and modern styles, were old traditions and customs meet and occassionally class against modern ideals and attitudes. A town surrounded by hills and woodlands, with a river dividing it, and tram and trolley lines go throughout it's narrow and windy roads.

Demographics

Most of the people of Branwhrn look like typical Welsh.

Government

The government of Brawhrwn is run by a town council.

Defences

The police force of Branhwrn act as the town's local guard against the criminal element and occasional supernatural terror of they can do anything about it. Otherwise occultists, paranormal investigators, and other individuals aware of the supernatural are often the ones to deal with the paranormal.

Industry & Trade

Argulcuture and fishing is the oldest form of industries in the town but both are still important. While some of the old mines from the industrail revolution have dried up a few still remain open as there are still enough materials to dig out. Like the mines many factories have long sense become abandoned yet a few of them and their corresponding warehouses remain stubbornly active. The town uses the river to trade with other towns close by.

Infrastructure

The town has only one rail line for a train to take people in and out of the town. Within many light rails for trams and trolleys are seen throughout the town, often serving as a good alternative from cars and buses, the latter of whom they often compete against. The town has both canals and bridges. The town still has a few active factories and mines. There are water purifying plants and pumping stations.

Architecture

One of Brahwrn's most distinct feature is the contrast between it's more older buildings that still stand and it's more modern structures. Many of the older buildings range from those build during the Victorian, Gerogian, and Edwardian periods. Many modern buildings share the same architecture styles ine woukd find in a usual town save for a few made in the brutalist form.

Geography

The town sits upon a mostly flat grasslands with rolling hills rising from the ground. From the south a forest can be seen and cutting through the town is a river. Many streams and ponds can be found on the grounds as well as canals.

Natural Resources

Coal and various metals found in the mines are used by the town. Many types of grain, fruits, and vegetables are grown in the farmlands and from the farms many animals are used to produce dairy and meat products. The river gives the town folks fresh water and fish and the forest provides wood and more animals for hunting.
