The Crane Guard, are the bodyguards of the Imperium Family, both in large scale deployments of defending the homes and districts of the imperium, and down to the individuals guarding a single member of the family, be it a children of Empress or just a great nephew, all are guarded with a similar level of dedication and commitment to the family. If the guards life would save a member of the family then the guard would without hestition give their live, it is seen as an honour to do so.
Unlikely every other regiment and units within the forces of the Imperium, all members of the Crane guard are of the Tengu race, this is due to the fact they are expected to be able to fly with the Imperium Family if required, and so far no mechanical substitute for other races have been found to be reliable or as fast as required.

5000 Tengu both Male and Female, Spread across the Imperium at all Imperial Hoidings.

Equipment

The armour used by the Crane Guard is that of elemental leather, this leather is partially of the elemental planes, not just that of air (which was and probably still is the most common) but that of all planes, it comes from the strange elemental beasts that cross into the material world. The Crane Imperium will pay a fortune for any hides from such beasts, the larger the more they would spend.

Weaponry

Daggers, swords, spears, bows and shields depending on the role the member of the guard is performing at a time.

Structure

Marshal of the Guard 5x Colonels
Under each Colonel is a battalion which is divided into
10 Companies, each with a Captain in charge of it.
Each Company is made up of 70 to 150 Members with a lieutenant in charge and within each unit of 10 there is a serganent and a corporal in charge of the rest of the members.

Tactics

They are trained as defence teams, as individual bodguards as required. Rather than an offensive group. They are trained to defend the Imperial House and Property.
