History

Originally named Haven, this city was formed by the human Cedric Parda as a safe place to live for rebels against the Baba Yaga's reign in Irrisen. Located at the edge of the Kodar Mountains, it used the connected Witchcaves to help people out of the country with relative safety. The rebellion was crushed by the Jadwiga forces however, and the ruined city was dubbed Cedric's Fall as a reminder of the man's failure as well as his specific death: thrown from the tower of his castle to the bottom of the nearby waterfall. Cedric's Fall was left as a small backwater where the less favored of the Baba Yaga's offspring would rule.   This changed when a group of adventurers seeking asylum made their way through the Witchcaves and found a woman being attacked by local monsters. Trostani, a village leader, reluctantly accepted their help, though her fears of retribution for killing the monsters were founded. The adventuring party killed a winter wolf warden and fought their way through the ruined castle to confront the current leader of the city, a young Jadwiga woman named Molanna. Molanna quickly relinquished control of the city, and the group set about making reforms. Through trade and political connections, Hammerfall is now turning into a decently prosperous city and a growing seed of rebellion in Irrisen.
