The Shadow Lodge

A splinter group from the Pathfinder Society. The Shadow Lodge was once an organization led by the information broker and former Pathfinder Grandmaster Torch, who used it to force the leaders of the Society to be more accountable for the members. His coup worked and the Pathfinders were sent less into dangerous situations with no information of the dangers, and given more care in case of injury while working. For some though, this was not enough. Kormiggon Sussworth, an apparently immortal man, used the disgruntled members of the Shadow Lodge to his own ends. He took control of the largest portion of the now-fractured group in order to form the Pathfinder Society into a pseudo-paramilitary group with which he could accomplish his own goals. At the Seven Veils celebration in Absalom in 4716 AR, Kormiggon Sussworth bombed a portion of the city and killed both the leaders of the city as well as the leaders of the Pathfinder Society. From the city's ashes he siezed power, finally realizing his goals and taking complete control of the Pathfinder Society as well as Absalom.

Structure

Small squads of adventurers overseen by Venture-Captains. These captains report to Kormiggon's chosen commanders, who in turn report to his direct generals and finally himself.

Numerous Pathfinder lodges across the globe, including the central Grand Lodge in Absalom. The Grand Archives containing all of the Society's amassed treasures and magical artifacts. Various adventuring groups loyal to the Society.

Disbandment

After an uprising led by Grandmaster Torch successfully forced the leaders of the Pathfinder Society to be held more accountable for their actions, he officially disbanded the organization and began working with the Society to hunt down the Shadow Lodge members who refused to re-enter the Society.
