Episode 59 - Shaking Things Up

General Summary

• The Guardians of Golarion took some downtime in the elven city of Iadara.
• Godric and Telith trained with elven soldiers in their barracks.
• Hugo spent some time around hospices, developing self-healing techniques.
• Kuuro scoured the city looking for ninjas to train her.
• Reh and Rooker held performances across the city, recounting the story they told Queen Telandia Edasseril about the coming of Tharzduun and the destruction of Iadara.
• The elves enjoyed the performances. But as the days passed and the crowds grew, discussions began forming between the spectators. Who was this Tharzduun these humans were talking about? Why did the drow Lasdolon steal the name of their great military general?
• One night, the Guardians were attacked by a dozen Lantern Bearers who shouted “Death to all who would doubt the Winter Council!”
• The Lantern Bearers used sleep arrows to knock out Hugo, Telith, and Rooker. But they managed to recover and eliminate several of the assassins before the others fled. They didn't get far and were apprehended by the royal guardsmen.
• The guardsmen, on behalf of the Queen, escorted the Guardians to a secure room in the palace while they recovered from the attack.

Notes

• Discovery about the Winter Council. There is a rumor that a secret society exists in Kyonin’s government by this name. Some rumors claim that the Winter Council advises the queen, while others believe that the Winter Council uses the queen as a puppet and that its members are the true rulers of Kyonin. No one knows when the first Winter Council began, but what is known is that as long as there has been a noble family overseeing the elves, there has been a Winter Council by their side.
