Hellfire Gauntlet
The Hellfire Gauntlet was believed to have been made originally for an Assassin, skilled in Alchemy, who was a descendant of a fire breathing half-dragon. The truth may never be known in full, but the gauntlet is most definitely some form of alchemical tool.
History of the Gauntlet
Hugo had no idea where the gauntlet originally came from. All he knew was that Uncle Jutrios had excitedly approached him to assist with a project he had recently been hired for. Hugo wasn't told who the benefactor was, or what the project was exactly. At some point during testing, something went wrong and a vial of swirling yellow mist blew up in Hugo's hands. When Hugo awoke days later, he was horrified to see that he had lost all the fingers on his left hand except the badly scarred thumb and pinky. The weight of his right arm surprised him, and when he looked at his right hand, it was gone. Instead of a hand, there was heavy scarring halfway up his forearm for about two inches. The band of scarring seemed to weave itself through the bindings of a metal gauntlet that replaced - or encased - what had been his right hand. Uncle Jutrios would not say where the gauntlet came from, who performed the fleshweaving ritual that put it on him, or why he had been given the gauntlet in the first place. This jeweled and intricately decorated gauntlet is an alchemical dispenser. The components are added to the gauntlet by removing the gem on the back of the gauntlet and combining components in various chambers. When an alchemist creates an extract or bomb, he infuses the concoction with a tiny fraction of the magical power contained within the gauntlet. This enables the creation of powerful effects but also binds the effects to the creator.
- Bombs are created in the palm of the gauntlet, triggered by clenching the fist and slowly opening the hand. The creation and throwing a bomb requires a standard action that provokes an attack of opportunity.
- Extracts are created by pressing the middle and ring finger to the palm of the gauntlet. If the extraction is an infusion, the infusion may be extracted through the index finger.
- Mutagens are created by pressing the thumb to the base of the pinkie.
- Extractions and Mutagens are ingested through painful injections within the gauntlet.
