She has told you:
The first thing I remember was a cage, there were men talking they were saying, “this one will never sell,” at that time I was about 4, and I was a victim of slavery. I never knew who I was or where I was from, I was just alone in a cage. Until a man dressed in fancy looking clothing arrived and chose me, at first, I didn’t know what to think of him, but I was thankful that I was free from the cage that had become my world.
The first thing he did was make me wear fancy clothing and learn to read, write and talk properly. At the time I didn’t understand but I was still amazed by it all, and I gladly accepted, it was to bad that I learned it all so fast. After that was done he picked me up from what I now think was more of a payed wizards house than a school. We went to his estate he was the nephews of the ruling lord of their house, the noble family of Morilla, the lord of the house Celedo is the guild master of mysteries and the trade master.
My first day there was a day of wonders, I didn’t know that the world was this big, much less a single house, my job there was to be a servant, and to take care of the house and its residents. I wasn’t any good at cleaning. But I tried anyway, but my best attempts weren’t good enough, so when one of the higher-ranking men of the house saw me struggling he said, “You come with me, I think I can encourage you to try a little harder”. Being 5 I had no idea what that meant but I followed anyway.
He took me to an underground area that was a lot like the slavers tent I was used to, he told me to stay still and tied me up to one of the walls. he grabbed a whip that was nearby whipped me many, many times, but only in places that could be covered up easily. Once I regained consciousness he said “hopefully you will do a better job tomorrow” and he untied me, as he was leaving he told me “if you tell anyone about this you will be cast off Absolom and you will die alone at sea” being 5 I wouldn't have said anything if he simply told me not to, but with a threat like that I was more than shocked.
I lived like that for a few years, slowly getting used to the way to do everything, but once I was 10 they started telling me to do things like “go fetch this and go deliver that” I had no idea what to do, but that’s when I made my first friend, she was kind, quiet and had a weird way of speaking so she was “encouraged” a lot, but she was very nice and helped me find the thing that they requested of me, but most of all it was nice having someone to talk to. We had gotten close even though she was 2 years older than I was, she had made this living hell tolerable. Once I felt I could actually get through each day was when I saw her, I was on my way to work on the garden when I saw 2 men carrying her up from the “encouragement chamber” I ran over to see why they were carrying her, but what I saw wasn’t her anymore, she was gone, and all that was left was the broken body of the only person I had ever called friend.
After this point she just looked off into the distance and stoped talking.
