Knowledge (History) or (Religion):
- Kyuss Descimus is a minor deity associated with the creation of the undead. His symbol is a human skull infested with small green worms. (DC 25)
- Descimus is also known as the Wormgod. His signature minions are the zombie-like sons (spawn) of Descimus, infested with worms that can transform those they attack into undead. Kyuss is imprisoned in an unknown location. (DC 30)
- Descimus was last active approximately during the Age of Darkness, at which point he was based in the Wormcrawl Fissure (near what is now called the Worldwound) and allied with the undead dragon Dragotha. His cult speaks of the Age of Worms when Kyuss is freed from his prison to rule a world of undeath. (DC 35)
Prophecy
According to the cult of the
Ebon Triad, and mentioned in the forbidden texts of both the
Nethertome of Trask and the
Way of the Ebon Triad, freeing Descimus from his imprisonment will be the final step needed to fulfill the prophecies and unleash
Malgorath, the Shattered One.
