Masters Session Three

The morning unfolded at the Halfling Hearth Tea Room in Salisgrad, under the watchful eye of Madame Elara and her daughters. Amidst this tranquil setting, Marik Voras from the Arcane Anchor magic shop graced the establishment, displaying various magical wares for adventurers and travelers alike. Alongside Malik was a golem who played the triple role of beast of burden, security, and tea party partaker with Madame Elara's youngest daughters.   The arrival of a somber figure soon pierced the day's calm, Brother Keefe, a priest of Pharasma and the self-styled "Keeper of the Dead" of Valhingen Graveyard. Seeking aid for a task shrouded in secrecy and danger, he enlisted the heroes' services to investigate the crypt of Xandria Welltran, rumored to be a polymorphed green dragon rather than the human she was believed to be.   Upon reaching the Welltran Crypt, a place of solemn beauty and eerie silence, the heroes made an unexpected discovery. Once opened, the sarcophagus of Xandria Welltran revealed a trove of draconic bones mixed with human ones, a testament to Xandria's true nature, albeit with many bones missing and a collection of tiny gems that seemed out of place.   The tranquility was shattered as a trap was sprung, sealing the crypt and filling it with noxious gas. Quick thinking and observation revealed a secret passage beneath the sarcophagus, revealed by the correct placement of the gems into wall carvings corresponding to the elemental affinities of various dragons.   Venturing below, the heroes encountered the remnants of necromantic rituals and the guardians of this dark legacy. Draconian skeletons and what appeared to be a reanimation chamber hinted at attempts to meld draconic and undead forms, culminating in a pool guarded by animated armor, protecting an orb sustaining the necromantic energy permeating the area. The armor, older that the undead forms or the teleportation circle in the reanimation chamber, bore the symbols of a church that had seemingly only appeared within the past few years - the Church of the First.   Defeating these guardians and disabling the orb, the heroes uncovered more questions than answers in the truth behind the crypt's secrets. Returning to the surface, Brother Keefe's revelation of his affiliation with The Shadowed Guardians and the involvement of the Crimson Glove in draconic investigations cast a new light on the depth of mystery and intrigue within Salisgrad.
